So, who am I? I was born in Angola to a Portuguese family. I have 2 sisters. When I was three years old, my parents moved back to Sao Miguel, Acores – Portugal, where I lived until the age of 15 years old. Then, we immigrated to Canada and settled in Hamilton. I am a Hamiltonian at heart, I love this city. I got married and have a daughter. She is my WHY!
I’m an HR professional with over 27+ years of experience in the post-secondary career and employment space. My journey started humbly—data entry, one keystroke at a time—and now, I’m an Associate Director leading a team of 20. How did that happen? A mix of hard work, curiosity, a fearless attitude, and probably way too much coffee. ☕
I’ve always approached my work with an entrepreneurial mindset—treating every role as if I were running my own business. That mentality (along with some good luck and great mentors) helped me grow, and now I want to pay it forward.
